The author's interview with
Prince Michel of Celine
It's here...the highly anticipated interview of Prince Michel of Celine!
You guys voted last month and Michel was able to just nudge past his brother, Luc!
Michel was extremely flattered that the voters selected him for the June Character of the Month and sat down with Ms. Morgan to answer a few questions she had, as well as some questions you, the fans, had for him. As always, Ms. Morgan is listed as "LM" and Prince Michel will be labeled by "PM".
LM: Prince Michel, you have no idea how fantastic it is to sit down with you today!
PM: Thanks, Lisa. I feel very humbled by the voters.
LM: How did Prince Luc take the news that you beat him out in the voting?
PM: Luc took it as I would have expected- he claimed the votes were tainted then stomped off to try to have our father write a decree, ordering you to interview him instead.
LM: Jeeze... Can your dad actually do that?
PM: *laughing* I don't think he can, but leave it to Luc to try. So, what would you like to know?
LM: Let's see, how about we start with what's it like to be a prince of The Realm?
PM: You would assume it would be fantastic, right? *LM nods* In truth, I find it rather tedious.
LM: Tedious? How so?
PM: Well, for starters, the expectations put on you at a very young age are burdensome. My very early years were filled with fun- games and such that all children participate in, but as I grew older, I was expected to learn battle skills, like using a sword and other manner of weapons. Then, on top of learning about The realm and its histories, I was also required to attend school with Mortals. It is believed by my people that we should know how Mortals think, what they know, to better help them, if needed.
LM: So when you attended school with humans, did you get to participate in activities with them> I don't know- play on the football team or go to homecoming?
PM: I wish! *PM chuckles* Given my make up, it would have been unfair to the humans. not to mention the fact that when I attended school in the Mortal realm, many of those sporting activities had yet to be invented.
LM: I see. How about a question from one of the voters? cledus117 asks "What is the most challenging part of being a vampire?"
PM: Most challenging... great question! I think it would have to be the blood. Humans have that idea about vampires, that we running around in the dark and pick an unsuspecting soul and drink from them. Of course, this is not the case. The Angels provide blood for us four times a year. *holds up his hands* Before you ask, the Angels were our creators many, many centuries ago. The first vampires were Fallen Angels, those whom decided to leave Empyrean to live other lives. Angels are everywhere, some specifically serve the human world, while others serve The Realm. Those that serve the Realm have nothing to do with the religions of the Human race.
LM: It all sounds a little complicated to me, but probably because I'm new to it all. Here's another question from a voter- starshineeyes asks "do the beings of The Realm celebrate holidays like humans?"
PM: There are some we share with Humans. Things like the Solstices, Samhien, Mabon. We do not celebrate birthdays, as we are gifted to our parents and not actually "born" to them.
LM: green67 asks "What did you think the first time you saw Maggie?" OH...I like this one...
PM: The first time I saw Maggie. Wow... It feels like it was yesterday! I'd first noticed her with that friend of her's, Stephanie, at a shopping center. Maggie looked a little lost, yet at the same time, just radiant. I'd been in the mall to look at buying a new guitar, but I couldn't shake the image of her from my thoughts. I was trying out one of the guitars when I caught a scent... it was like sunshine and lavendar. I glanced up quick and saw Maggie speaking to one of the store clerks. I thought right then that my heart would start to beat.
LM: That's right... your heart doesn't, didn't beat, right?
PM: It is a rare thing for a vampire's heart to beat. It is said that only destiny, finding the other half of your soul, can trigger it to life.
LM: So it beats now? Because of Maggie?
PM: Truthfully Ms. Morgan, I'd rather not discuss that.
LM: Umm, okay then. How about another voter question? *PM nods* that80sguy asks "Have you killed many revenants?"
PM: Honestly, I try not to have to kill anything, but yes, I have killed revenants in the past, among other things.
LM: Other things?
PM: I lived through the First Revenant War, Ms. Morgan... not all of the bad guys were skeletons.
LM: okay... I won't push. How about this one, from swordsaplenty- "What's it like being Luc's younger brother?"
PM: *laughing whole heartedly* Luc is my older brother, not more mature brother. There have been many times where he and I but heads on things, but in the end, I know he cares for me. He took our mother's death very hard, and left The Realm for many years. He was changed when I found him again. However- on the battle field... in any fight, really, there is no one I'd rather have beside me. He is arrogant, but still my brother.
LM: Your childhood with him must have been, how shall I put this? Interesting?
PM: That it was. He is only 2 human years older than I and had a predisposition for mischief. As the younger of us, I ended up taking most of the blame for the foolish things he would do. It was Luc who taught me how to dance, and it was also he who told storied to me about The Realm and the Human world. I think, had he been born a human, Luc would have been a teacher.
LM: What about you? If you had been a human, what would your occupation have been?
PM: Hands down, I would have been a musician. I love playing instruments of all kinds and do not limit myself to only the guitar. I think I would have tried to play violin or cello in one of the grand orchestra's your world has. Boston, maybe. Boston is such a lovely city.
LM: Is there anything else you wish to ahre with my readers?
PM: I think it would be a warning...
LM: A warning? About what?
PM: The worlds as we know it are hovering on the edge of change. I can feel it in the air like an approaching thunderstorm. What we have always thought we'd known, what we've always believed, is coming to an end. So I would say to your readers, be careful.
LM: Be careful of anything specifically?
PM: Let's say it like this- if the hair on your neck stands up, if you feel a chill in a midsummer's day, if it feels like eyes are on you from the shadows in the dark, do not ignore it.
LM: Thanks Prince Michel for sitting down with me. Good luck.
PM: Ms. Morgan, you have no idea how much we need that.
